☆Here’s where to eat in Disney’s Polynesian right now!☆

Many of you may already know that not only is the Polynesian our favourite resort but hosts our favourite restaurant on property, Ohana’s. Of course right now Ohana’s is temporarily closed. But that doesn’t mean there is a lack of good food at the Poly. Here are our top picks for the resort. We have a sit down restaurant, quick service, bars and a lounge. So plenty of options. Let’s take a look.

☆Tambu Lounge☆
This would be our first alternate to Ohana’s. They do the most amazing Crispy Big Kahuna Buffalo Hot Wings. Consider getting a couple portions to share, they’re amazing! Or the Kaikane’s korean style BBQ Marinated Pork Rib, with pickled peppers and pineapple slaw. Either of these is a worthy feast. Why not get a plate of each and mix it up?

☆Kona Cafe☆
Kona is a lesser known restaurant but it offers real good food. Hosting breakfast and dinner you will find plenty to feed your hunger. It’s a mix of Asian and American favourites with a delicious sushi bar attatched.

Our top pick for Breakfast is the Tonga Toast. It’s banana filled French toast in cinnamon sugar with a strawberry compote. Served with ham, bacon or sausage.

For Dinner we would go for the Kona Coffee braised Short Rib with creamy mash and broccoli. We also had the Pan Fries Mahi last time, mixed with bacon, croutons, marble potatoes, tomatoes, a great pick for fish lovers.

☆Captain Cooks☆
Here is the resort counter service with a bunch of asian/hawaiin foods. It’s also one of our favourite places for a quick service in Disney World.

For breakfast you can also get the Tonga Toast (not quite as good as Kona’s). We enjoyed last time the Bounty Platter with bacon, sausage, potatoes and a biscuit.

For dinner we highly recommend the Pan Asian Noodles with lots of veggies. More than enough in a bowl to fill your belly. Or if pork is your thing you can’t beat the succulent Aloha Pork Sandwich.

☆Pineapple Lanai☆
If you want a resort day you can still get the incredible Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats from Magic Kingdom here. Top tip. They advertise just pineapple. But they do feature flavours from time to time like Lime or Rasberry. (Also you can get some coconut rum here for a little kick to your float)

☆Barefoot Pool Bar☆
If your just after a drink then the pool bar is your spot. For non alcoholic can we suggest the Lava Smoothie with Rasberry, Coconut and Pineapple. However for that something special you gotta try the Frozen Margarita with Lime Dole Whip. It’s insanely good!

There we have it, Big Ohana’s is down right now but the Poly still has many fine tasty tricks up its sleeves. You won’t be disappointed.
