☆What we LOVE about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party☆

Sadly 2020 will be the first time Mickey doesn’t bring his party to Magic Kingdom. It’s our favourite Disney Party (beats Villains and Christmas Parties in our opinion). So we thought we’d cover what we loved from last years event and hopefully when it returns in 2021 you’ll want to go too.

  • Going to post this disclaimer. We did the Villains After Hours and Halloween Party days apart last year so we will do our best not to mix them up. If you want a feature on the Villains party, let us know in the comments.

Ok, so here we go, what we loved about MNSSHP, in no particular order.

    ☆Early entry
We were in the parks anyway but they let people in from around 4 for the party start at 6, so this is a nice bonus if you don’t have a day ticket.

You are given a small candy bag (bring your own if you want more candy!) And trails ran through lesser used rides and eateries. For example Monsters Inc Laugh Floor was one. Look out for the tall illuminated inflatables (locations on event maps too)

Here you will get exclusive character meet and greets you won’t get during normal days. Our two favourites were Pooh,Tigger,Piglet and Eeyore (Normally only in Crystal Palace). And Belle and Gaston. Lines for these are long early on  but we caught Belle and Gaston late and there was barely a line.

    ☆Special treats
There are event exclusive treats and drinks dotted around the park, check the event guide for details. Also we are sure we got free popcorn, but not 100%

Special stage shows in front of the castle, plus parades and fireworks. These get real busy and you normally get 2 of each, try and hit the later ones, it will be less busy. Top tip if you are in a monorail resort. You can view and hear the special fireworks from the beaches.

    ☆Character curtain drop
Watch out for villains on the train station during park closing.

    ☆Dress up.
Halloween parties are the only chance you get to dress as full characters (except masks). Go all out it’s lots of fun, coordinating family costumes is also super cool.

    ☆Special Merch
As with all events you will get special merch. Our favourite is the pin plus we got a Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom exclusive party card.

    ☆Reduced Capacity
This may have a new meaning for a long time. But during previous times the park was about a third as busy. So it was real nice.

We love Mickeys Halloween Party, we go every year. It’s a must do experience. We Normally do it August time when we visit. Every year they tweak it so it’s not quite the same. So definitley don’t think this is a one and done event.
