Bay Lake Tower Hits and Misses

☆Bay Lake Tower Hits and Misses☆

This month celebrates the 11th anniversary of the opening of Bay Lake Tower, an extension tower located next to the contemporary resort. It offers beautiful views and stunning rooms. For DVC members only there is also the Top of the World lounge offering food and drink including the amazing 7 layer cake and firework viewing. This isn’t for all guests so we won’t include it below.

Here we take a look at the hits and misses of Bay Lake Tower

☆Hit – Views
There’s no doubting that with the design of the tower the views are incredible, lake views, theme park views are all available here. Anywhere you look, you’ll see something stunning

☆Miss – No restaurants
With the exception of the Cove Bar at the pool and the DVC only lounge at the top, we think it’s a shame they didn’t put in even one restaurant Yes you can walk over to the Contemporary but with all the money that went into it, why not give the tower a restaurant of it’s own?

☆Hit – Rooms
Here you will find DVC level rooms, however they are open to anybody to stay with Studio right up to 3 bed suites. Even the Studio rooms  are very spacious with kitchenette and also a shared  balcony! Step up to the Villas and you will find an incredible amount of space multiple bathrooms, full kitchen and island plus private balcony.

☆Miss – Lack of on site facilities
Again if you want some proper food, shops and even resort transportation you have to head over to Contemporary. It’s not a massive issue but the tower could have more for guests.

☆Hit – Pool
You do get a pool here. And it’s real nice ans kinds of reminds us of being on a Disney Cruise, especially with the tower for the slids featuring Mickey Head. Oh yeah the zero entry pool has a near 150ft long water slide. Visit the whirlpool spa or watch the kids have fun in the water play zone. Small foods and drinks can be found at the Cove Bar

We do like the Tower and our niggles in reality are very minor, anything you don’t have in Bay Lake is across the walkway in Contemporary. It’s just an elevator, walkway and another elevator to reach your destination.
