Ranking the Magic Kingdom Area Resorts

☆Ranking the Magic Kingdom Area Resorts☆

You could argue these days that Magic Kingdom isn’t the premier park to be. With new additions to parks like Pandora, Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land people will be alot more likely to want to stay nearer to these attractions. However Magic Kingdom and it’s neighbouring resorts, for us anyway, will always be the heart of Disney World. Attatched to it are 5 resorts that can all easily be accessed by monorail or boat after a long day at the park, we’ll take anything but the buses anyday. We have stayed and experienced them all. So let us break down our favourites. We won’t include here villas/DVC just the main resorts themselves.

☆5☆Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
Basically a forest holiday but Disney style. Stunning cabins to stay in and the option of bringing your own campervan. Unfortunatly our favourite part of the resort ,(Mickey’s Backyard BBQ) is no longer operating.

☆4☆Wilderness Lodge

The best natural beauty on this list. We love the vast lodge surroundings. Away enough from the parks that you feel like you’re in your own little world, but just a boat ride from the magic. Has some great eats with Whispering Canyon and Artist Point character dining. Only place to meet the Evil Queen! Our favourite thing about the resort. Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review. A fun dinner show sing along with all you can eat fried chicken and ribs. Even when we don’t stay here, we can all visit.

☆3☆Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Disneys more upscale resort but still with plenty to occupy families. We adore the stunning pools, the gorgeous grounds, walking distance to the Poly. The restaurants are good, Citricos and Narcoossee’s are up there with the best of them, especially when you can watch the fireworks over dinner. 1900 park fare is also a fun character dining with a different mix of characters you won’t see together anywhere else. However our favourite thing to do here is relax in the grand foyer where we could listen to the live band all day long

Let’s start with this…It has a monorail going through it! You never stop marvelling at it. It has the most fun restaurant you’ll find, Chef Mickey. Sure the food is average, but you go for Mick and the gang! Other restaurants include the Wave which is plain visually but the menu may surprise you. California Grill is another favourite of ours, good food and even greater views over Magic Kingdom. You can also get the pirates and pals fireworks cruise from here which is a ton of fun for the whole family. Our favourite thing about the resort…did we mention it has a monorail going through it!

☆1☆Polynesian Village

This will always be our favourite and most stated at hotel. (Our honeymoon hotel). We love the open grounds with individual buildings. The volcano pool is super fun, although we always go to the quieter oasis pool. Captain Cooks has great food…24hrs too. We love the dole whip and Spirit of Aloha is a relaxing fun dinner show not to be missed. It also features one of our top restaurants in Ohana’s. And all you can eat mega feast. We’ll however remember mosy sitting in a hammock on the beach watching the fire works over Cinderella Castle. Quite possibly the most happiest place on earth.
