The Walt Disney Company is beginning a $5million pledge to support the advancement of social justice by donating $2million to NAACP who advocate for and use training program’s to eliminate discrimination.
“The killing of George Floyd has forced our nation to once again confront the long history of injustice that black people in America have suffered, and it is critical that we stand together, speak out and do everything in our power to ensure that acts of racism and violence are never tolerated,” Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.
Disney has always supported such causes and will continue to do so in an even greater way. Employees can also donate to these causes with Disney matching contributions.
Disney is proving to be a world leader once again, this time in Social Justice leading by example on a large scale to eradicate racial discrimination and disparities. It has also used it’s media outlets to release a series of programmes supporting the cause and #blacklivesmatter
